Two men, including a gang associate, have been charged following a ram raid burglary at a Flat Bush liquor store in Auckland early this morning.

A third person is being sought.

Counties Manukau CIB Detective Inspector Karen Bright said two allegedly stolen vehicles arrived at the store on Bishop Dunn Place just before 12.30am, and one was used to gain entry into the business.

“The Eagle helicopter deployed to the area and located the offenders fleeing the scene in one of the vehicles,” she said.

The trio drove to Belinda Ave, before getting into another vehicle.

“One offender got out and returned to the vehicle that had just been abandoned.

“He drove this vehicle a short distance before it crashed into a fence, and he fled on foot.”

A police dog handler searched the immediate area and that offender is still being sought.

Meanwhile, Eagle was continuing to track the other vehicle heading south to Takanini.

Bright said the vehicle then travelled to Ōtara, where the vehicle was spiked and two men were arrested.

The pair, aged 20 and 24, will face charges including burglary and multiple counts of unlawfully taking a vehicle in the Manukau District Court.

The 24-year-old has also been charged with dangerous driving.
