One person has died and three others were seriously injured following a crash in Poroporo near Whakatāne last night.
Emergency services were called to a single-vehicle crash on Station Rd, near Butler Rd around 10pm.
“Sadly, one person was located deceased at the scene,” a police spokesperson said.
“Three other people were transported to hospital in a serious condition.”
The road was closed while the serious crash unit conducted a scene examination.
Station Rd reopened shortly after 4am.
