One person has died following a crash which closed State Highway 1 in Canterbury for a period this morning.
Police responded to a report of the two-vehicle crash on Main South Rd at around 10.50am.
“One person received injuries and sadly, died at the scene of the crash,” a spokesperson said.
State Highway 1 was closed near Selwyn while emergency services attended and the serious crash unit conducted a scene examination.
“The road has now re-opened.
“Inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.”
