One person has died and another is seriously injured after a two-vehicle crash in Waikato last night.
Police said the crash on State Highway 39 at Ngāhinapōuri, southwest of Hamilton, was reported just before 8pm.
“One person died at the scene, with a second person taken to hospital in a serious condition,” a spokesperson said.
The serious crash unit attended and inquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
St John said it responded to the crash with two ambulances, two rapid response units and one operations manager.
“One patient in a serious condition was transported by ambulance to Waikato Hospital,” a spokesperson said.
