Are the Spice Girls planning to spice up everyone’s lives again?

Mel B – real name Melanie Brown – has sparked speculation the Spice Girls could be set for a reunion of sorts in 2024.

Appearing on US TV show Today with Hoda & Jenna this week, Brown revealed that fans can expect some Spice Girls-related news soon.

“Well, I’ve been saying this forever, but now we’re actually going to be releasing some really good news in about a few weeks that involves all five of us,” Mel B said, via People.

The Wannabe group reunited in 2019 for a Spice Girls tour without Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice.

The last time all five Spice Girls performed together was at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony.

Brown said that, logistically speaking, getting the group back together was difficult because “there’s five of us and we’ve got five different diaries, and we’re all parents”.

Whatever the news is, Brown said fans will be “100% satisfied” to hear it.

“It’s going to be the gift that keeps on giving, without saying too much about it,” she said. “I’m going to get myself into so much trouble.”

Brown also opened up about the band’s future in a December 2023 interview with Glamour magazine.

“We’re working on a big project, which will be announced pretty soon in the middle of next year,” she said.

“I can’t say too much about it, but it’s all five of us, which is really exciting.”

Speaking to The Sun last year, Brown claimed that a reunion was on the cards.

“My theory is that, if I say it enough, it will happen,” she said. “But actually, we are planning on releasing a statement.

“What that is, I can’t say right now because we’re just finishing off perfecting what we’re going to be doing together — all five of us — but it’s going to be something that the fans are really going to love.”

The UK Royal Mail recently announced it is issuing a set of 15 stamps to mark 30 years since the band members came together to form the Spice Girls in 1994.
