One man is believed to have been shot in a firearms incident in the Whangārei suburb of Otangarei this afternoon.
Police were called just before 2.30pm to an address on William Jones Drive.
There, they found a man with an injury that was “consistent with gunshot wound”.
He was taken into hospital in “a serious condition”, St John confirmed to 1News.
Residents were being advised to stay away from the “immediate area” while police search for those involved.
