A body found in the rockpools of a Wellington beach yesterday has now been identified by police.
Police were alerted at around 10.40am yesterday when the body of a man was found in the rockpools at Breaker Bay on Wellington’s south coast.
Earlier, police said the death was being treated as unexplained, and requested help from the public to identify him.
“At this stage we are not in a position to name him, however would like to extend our thanks to the public for their help,” a police spokesperson said.
Police said inquiries would continue into the man’s death, which would be referred to the coroner.
