A man has been arrested over the stabbing death of a man in Palmerston North last year.

Dayne Rademakers was found with multiple stab wounds at a Clyde Crescent address in the early hours of August 21. He later died in hospital.

After an investigation spanning several months, police today said they have arrested a 43-year-old man over his death.

“A dedicated team of detectives have worked hard to establish the facts of what occurred and to identify the person responsible,” Detective Senior Sergeant Karen Heald said.

She said no one else is being sought in connection with Rademakers death.

The man was taken into custody in Shannon and is due to appear in the Palmerston North District Court tomorrow.

“Police would like to thank members of the public who have provided information to assist in the investigation,” Heald said.

Police are still seeking a distinctive camo-coloured beanie as part of its ongoing investigation.
