Rock legends Iggy Pop and Joan Jett will play three shows across New Zealand in January as part of the 2026 Summer Concert Tour.

They will be joined by Australian rock band the Hoodoo Gurus and Kiwi rock heroes Zed.

The tour will kick off in Taupō over Auckland Anniversary Weekend on Saturday, January 24 at Taupō Amphitheatre.

It will then move to Whitianga on Monday, January 26 at Sheriff Block Arena before finishing at the Three Parks Outdoor Arena in Wanaka on Saturday, January 31.

Iggy Pop is known for dramatic, unpredictable and physically demanding stage performances. The 2020 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient’s career spans punk, pop, and albums from his band The Stooges, along with notable collaborations with artists such as David Bowie.

Recent set lists include classic hits like TV Eye, Raw Power, The Passenger, Lust for Life and Real Wild Child. He also has showcased songs from his 2023 album, Every Loser.

Iggy Pop said he was “knocked out by the chance to come and rock hard” in “beautiful New Zealand”.

Joan Jett, who will be joined by her band The Blackhearts, came into Rock ‘n’ Roll at a time when it was off limits to girls and women.

Since forming her band in 1979, she now has eight platinum and gold albums, and nine top 40 singles. This includes classics such as Bad Reputation, I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, I Hate Myself For Loving You, and Crimson and Clover.

Her career has spanned music, film, television, Broadway, and humanitarianism.

“I’m thrilled to be playing in New Zealand and performing for the fans there, really looking forward to it,” she said.

Ticket sales will be available to locals at the Taupō Visitor Information Centre, the Whitianga isite Information Cente, the Pauanui Information Centre, the Queenstown isite Visitor Information Centre, and the Wānaka isite Visitor Centre.
