Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay says he has undergone treatment to remove skin cancer.

The 58-year-old said he had basal cell carcinoma, a non-melanoma form of skin cancer, removed in a post to Instagram.

“Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this basal cell carcinoma, thank you,” the Kitchen Nightmares star said.

“Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend, I promise you it’s not a facelift. I’d need a refund.”

The post showed the side of his face following the treatment with a plaster beneath his ear.

Basal cell carcinomas were New Zealand’s most common skin cancer.

Health NZ said basal cell carcinomas were usually slow-growing lumps that could be skin-coloured or pink, could be pigmented, could bleed, could ulcerate and were a few millimetres to several centimetres in diameter.

The chef’s health update comes after a series of physical challenges, including a serious biking accident in 2024 that left him bruised but not seriously injured.

Ramsay, best known for his fiery temper, presents programmes such as Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and Masterchef.
