A long list of high-profile guests have been announced for Armageddon Expo, due to take place in Auckland in October.

Organisers this afternoon announced the pop culture expo’s line-up of guests, describing it as “the dream team”.

Among those appearing are the familiar faces of Elijah Wood, known for his role as Frodo in The Lord of the Rings; and Andy Serkis, whose pioneering work in motion capture performance has seen him appear in numerous films, from Star Wars to the Marvel universe to Planet of the Apes, and famously as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings.

Also in the list of celebrities were Evangeline Lilly, known for her roles in Lost, The Hobbit and Ant-Man; and Star Wars actor John Boyega.

They would be joined by Scream and Charmed star Rose McGowan, and Kaitlyn Dever, who had recently appeared in Booksmart, Uncharted, Apple Cider Vinegar and HBO’s The Last of Us. New Zealand-born Michelle Ang, from Fear the Walking Dead and The Tribe, was also in the line-up.

“It’s impossible to overstate how big this is,” expo founder Bill Geradts said.

“In 30 years of shows, we’ve hosted some incredible names — but never this many all at once. This line-up is the dream team for Kiwi fans — it’s the sort of event you’ll tell your kids you were there for.”

Joining the on-camera stars would be several notable voice actors, including Jim Cummings, known for voicing Winnie the Pooh and Tigger; and Veronica Taylor, the first person to voice Ash Ketchum in the English version of Pokémon. Alan Tudyk, who recently starred in 2025’s Superman and the acclaimed Star Wars series Andor, would also appear.

Geradts said that, due to the line-up, tickets would be limited and door sales would not be available during the expo days.

Armageddon Expo would take place across Labour Weekend, October 24 to 27, at the Auckland Showgrounds.

Tickets go on sale from September 1 on the Armageddon website.
