Daniel Faitaua will be rejoining Breakfast’s presenter lineup when the show returns next Monday, TVNZ has announced this evening.

Faitaua will be presenting TVNZ’s flagship morning news programme alongside Jenny-May Clarkson, Chris Chang and Anna Burns-Francis.

He was previously on Breakfast from 2016 to 2019.

The 47-year-old left the show to take up the role of TVNZ’s Europe correspondent. He then served as a presenter on 1News at 6, and as a reporter on Seven Sharp.

“I’m thrilled to be returning to Breakfast and joining the amazing stable of talent, in front and behind the camera,” Faitaua said.

“I’ve always loved the excitement of live TV and now I get to jump back into three hours of it, waking up with you every morning.

“I’ll be there bright and early on Monday, a large coffee in hand, and ready to kick start an exciting 2024.”

Meanwhile, there’s more happy news for the Breakfast team, with Burns-Francis announcing her pregnancy this evening.

She wed partner Simon Gordon in an intimate ceremony last July.

Breakfast returns on Monday, January 22 on TVNZ1 and TVNZ+.
