Lotto has announced a series of changes, as part of a “major” technology upgrade.

The changes, announced by the organisation today, included new in-store features and “simplified” spend limits.

Under the in-store changes, a single ticket will be printed when Lotto, Powerball and Strike are bought together, meaning triple dips will be on a single ticket.

There will be a screen allowing customers to see what they’re buying and an easier way to scan tickets, coupons and MyLotto favourites.

Spend limits will change to a seven-day rolling limit of up to $150 across all games.

“As a rolling limit, it updates daily based on your spending across the last seven days. Think of it as a rolling daily update,” Lotto said.

“When you log in after the system upgrade, you’ll be prompted to review your spend limit.”

The lowest limit customers had set would become the default.

“For example, if you have your Instant Kiwi Online or Draw Game limit currently set to $40 per week, this will be your new default limit, which you’ll be prompted to review.”

Any decrease to limits would take effect immediately, while any increase would activate after 24 hours.

For Lotto Subscription players, who play with their favourite tickets, these would no longer be linked to subscriptions after the upgrade.

“A copy of your favourite ticket will be made to create a separate Subscription ticket, so you won’t need to do anything. You will be able to edit them independently.”

The system upgrade will go live on September 29.

Lotto said there will be some “small disruptions” but “most of the upgrade will happen behind the scenes”.
