One person has been seriously injured after a car crashed into a luxury apartment building in Grey Lynn this afternoon.
Police said they received reports of a vehicle colliding with a building at the intersection of Williamson Ave and Pollen St at around 3.50pm.
“The road is partially blocked while emergency services attend, one person is being assessed for injuries.”
St John responded to the incident with one ambulance, one rapid response unit, one clinical support officer and one manager.
“Our crews assessed and treated one patient who was transported to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.”
Footage captured by 1News shows a vehicle on its side in front of The Greenhouse apartment building with police and fire appliances in attendance at the scene.
Residents can be seen watching the incident unfold from their balconies.
The 101-unit luxury apartment building The Greenhouse opened in February this year.
