A man has been charged with attempted murder after a cyclist was hit by a car in Kapiti during the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to Marine Parade in Paraparaumu at around 1.40am “where it appeared a cyclist had been hit by a car”.
The cyclist suffered a broken leg and other injuries.
“Police took the driver of the car into custody, and he is charged with attempted murder and failing to stop to ascertain injury.”
A 33-year-old man is due to appear in the Porirua District Court today.
