Armed officers are searching a home in Christchurch after a man’s death earlier this week.
David Karl Bridgwater, 38, was found dead on Aranui’s Carisbrooke St at about 2.28am on Thursday.
A homicide investigation is underway.
He was found on the road. Detective Inspector Nicola Reeves confirmed an “unusual noise” was what made informants call the police.
“Police, supported by the Armed Offenders Squad, are executing a pre-planned search warrant at a Carisbrooke Street address in Aranui, Christchurch, this morning,” a police spokesperson said today.
“The search began about 8.30am and is part of Operation Walter, the investigation into a 38-year-old’s death at a Carisbrooke Street address early on Thursday.
“Cordons are in place while police search the property and people are asked to avoid the area.”
Anyone with surveillance camera footage which could help with the investigation has been urged to contact police on 105.
