Armed police have cordoned off a road in Auckland’s Grey Lynn this evening after a report of a gun being fired and someone injured.
A sheet is covering what appeared to be a body on the ground in a driveway, a 1News reporter at the scene said.
Police confirmed officers were called to an address on Tuarangi Rd, Grey Lynn after “a report of a firearm being discharged” shortly before 7pm.
“Initial reports are that there have been injuries,” a police spokesperson said.
Cordons are in place while emergency services work at the scene.
“Further information will be provided when it is available,” police said.
Hato Hone St John said it sent two rapid response vehicles, three ambulances and one operations manager to the incident in Grey Lynn at 6.52pm.
A resident in the area told 1News a helicopter was also circling overhead.
